“Santos Tour Down Under U.C.I. WWT”: successo finale di Grace Brown

Successo finale di Grace Brown (FDJ – Suez) nell’edizione 2023 del “Santos Tour Down Under”, breve gara a tappe internazionale valevole come prima prova dell’U.C.I. Women’s World Tour. La forte atleta australiana, fresca campionessa nazionale contro il tempo, ha preceduto di 10 secondi la più esperta connazionale Amanda Spratt (Trek – Segafredo), risultata la più forte scalatrice, e di 19 secondi la neozelandese Georgia Williams (EF Education – TIBCO – SVB). La Brown si è imposta anche nella speciale graduatoria a punti, mentre Henrietta Christie (Human Powered Health) si è dimostrata la migliore tra le giovani. Nella terza ed ultima frazione della corsa australiana, corsa sulla distanza di 93,2 chilometri spalmati tra Adelaide e Campbelltown, la Brown si è presentata al traguardo in comapgnia di Amanda Spratt, che ha poi battuto nettamente allo sprint. Sul terzo gradino del podio è salita Georgia Williams, vincitrice della volata del primo drappello inseguitore, giunto al traguardo con un ritardo di 13 secondi dalla coppia di testa.
